Idaho Division of Public Works bids
Last updated
The Idaho Division of Public Works (DPW) contracts design and construction for state-owned buildings, including colleges and universities. Projects are approved by the Permanent Building Fund Advisory Council.
What DPW posts and where
DPW’s Construction page has tables for open bids, CM/GC RFQs, design-build solicitations and bid results, with yearly result archives. Ads also run in newspapers.
How bidding works
Bids come with a bid bond and are opened and read aloud in public. DPW sends a letter of intent to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, and issues a notice to proceed after bonds and insurance are in (DPW). Because these are building projects, list your plumbing, HVAC and electrical subs on the bid (Idaho Code 67-2310).
North Idaho work
Most DPW work is in the Boise area, but North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene bids through DPW. 2026 NIC results included the Steam Plant Phase 2 (low bid $2,750,342.41), Diesel Bay ($1,566,900), Boswell restroom ($625,489), Fort Ground ($564,400), Lakeside stage ($411,696), Winton Hall ($168,660), and window projects at Siebert and Industrial Arts (about $102,000–$105,000 each).
How often
As of October 29, 2026, DPW listed five open bids, in Nampa, Boise and Twin Falls, opening November 3–19.
