The ITD 90-day bidding forecast, explained

Last updated

ITD publishes a 90-day forecast of projects it expects to advertise, plus a longer 18-month look-ahead, on its Contractor Bidding page. It’s the earliest public signal of upcoming state highway work.

Column by column

A second page lists local-system projects (LHTAC-administered) in the same format. For details on a specific state project, ITD says to contact the district office.

Turning a forecast row into a bid

  1. Note the Key number and watch ITD’s QuestCDN page for the ad.
  2. When it’s advertised, buy the plans in your exact bidding name to get on the plan-holders list, which ITD requires for a valid bid (ITD checklist).
  3. Check the track: major projects can be bid electronically on Bid Express or on paper; smaller SIA/IRP projects are paper only.

Forecast refresh: the current file is ITD’s “October 2026” forecast, so expect a new one each month. This page reflects the forecast created September 30, 2026; Idaho Bid Brief re-reads it for every issue.

FAQ

What is the ITD 90-day forecast?

A PDF on ITD’s Contractor Bidding page listing state and local-system projects ITD expects to advertise in roughly the next three months, with key number, location, work type, approximate budget, approximate bid date and rough quantities.

Is the CN Budget on the ITD forecast the engineer’s estimate?

No. It is the approximate construction amount in ITD’s draft program, in thousands of dollars, and ITD says it is subject to change. The engineer’s estimate is published with results after award.
